The API Insights page in the Barcode Scan App gives you insight into the API usage of your Exact Online administration. Here you can monitor how many API calls are being used, whether limits are being reached and whether errors are occurring.

API limits overview

At the top of the page you can see the current API limits of your administration:

  • Minute limit – The maximum number of API calls per minute
  • Daily limit – The maximum number of API calls per day
  • Remaining – The number of calls you can still make today, including the time at which the daily limit will be reset

In addition, the details of the current division, the selected warehouse and the logged-in user are displayed.

Minute limit exceeded

Under the heading “Minute limit” the moments when the minute limit was exceeded are shown. For each exceedance you can see the time and the number of calls made in that minute. If the limit has never been reached, this is also indicated.

API errors

The “API errors” section shows an overview of recent errors that occurred during communication with the Exact Online API. For each error the following is shown:

  • Time – When the error occurred
  • Error code – The HTTP status code of the error
  • Endpoint – Which API call caused the error
  • Error message – The description of the error
  • User – The user who performed the action
