The Barcode Scan App uses the Exact Online API to update your data in real time in Exact Online. Exact Online has recently announced that it will tighten the API limits to reduce the load on the API:

The following changes are being implemented that may affect your use of the Barcode Scan App:
Maximum 10 error messages per user per hour
You can receive a maximum of 10 error messages per endpoint per user per hour. After that, your access will be blocked for 1 hour. This means that if you regularly perform incorrect actions while processing your inventory, the Barcode Scan App will be unusable for one hour.
In the Barcode Scan App, checks have been implemented in various places that alert you to potentially incorrect input. The input will be highlighted in red and the submit button will also turn red. Be alert to this and make sure you carefully check your entered data before submitting.
Maximum 5,000 calls per administration per day and maximum 60 calls per minute
A maximum of 5,000 calls per day may be sent to the API. Additionally, a maximum of 60 calls per minute can be made. When this number is exceeded, the API and therefore the Barcode Scan App will (temporarily) stop working. If this is a problem for your administration, please contact Exact Online.
The Barcode Scan App has already been extensively optimised to keep the number of calls to a minimum. The calls that are used are necessary to keep the data in our database synchronised with the data in Exact Online. Further optimisation is currently not possible.
In the Barcode Scan App, you can find the number of remaining calls on the settings page under the Cache tab:
On this page you can see how many calls your administration has used and how many remain:
Any errors in the communication are also displayed. Often you can see from this that the permissions of the relevant user are not set up correctly.
Exact Online Premium
If the number of calls is not sufficient for daily use with your administration, you can switch to Exact Online Premium. With this version of Exact Online, you have the option to purchase additional API calls. Please contact Exact for this.
